The Wheeler family's journey in maple syrup production started decades ago with Vernon Wheeler's childhood interest. In 1978, Vernon and his wife Judy began producing maple syrup on the Highland Line with 2,300 taps. Their operation expanded over the years, involving their children: Mark, Angela, Kristen, and Tracy. In 1996, the family opened a Pancake House built with local materials, initially operating seasonally. After the 1998 Ice Storm, it began to stay open throughout the year, adding nature trails and snowmobile routes.
In 2000, the Wheelers added the Maple Heritage Museum to their operations, showcasing Vernon's collection of maple artifacts, which received Guinness World Record recognition. Wheelers Maple has grown to tap over 40,000 trees using modern technology while upholding high-quality standards. Based in Canada, Wheelers Maple is a reflection of the Wheeler family's longstanding commitment to maple syrup production.

Amazing GF pancakes, and syrup. I was not able to have the sausage as they contain wheat. But as someone with celiac I am always on the hunt for really well done GF foods. Wheelers did not disappoint. Best GF pancakes I’ve ever had.

Pancakes and Sausage with Maple Syrup
This was a very enjoyable pancake and sausage breakfast. Two huge pancakes that were perfect and 3 really nice sausages. I'll be back!

We came upon Wheeler’s by accident. We saw a sign - hadn’t eaten breakfast - so thought we would try and find it. The route is very well marked and we had no trouble locating it. Food was great and their home made sausage delicious.

Awesome pancakes and French toast but their homemade pork breakfast sausages are too die for - absolutely delicious. Fantastic ambience and great sites to visit. So worth the trip to go there! Highly recommended!

Great breakfast ($15 with 1 pancake, 1 French toast, 3 sausages) and $2.75 unlimited coffee. Nice staff. 1 hour seating only (yes they did have gentle reminder after 1 hr mark). Make sure you call for reservation. Leisure walk around the farm, museum and trails.

We drove from Ottawa and let me tell you that the 1.5 hour drive is completely worth it. Probably the best pancakes I have had in my life. They accomodate dairy-free needs too! This pancake House is warm, cozy and full of family vibes.
